Fee: $85 for persons & organizations outside of Ionia County. Fee is waived for Ionia County residents/organizations. Fee includes training materials, continental breakfast, lunch both days, & refreshments.

Target Audience & Social Work Practice Levels:
Mental health and other human service professionals, school personnel, primary care professionals, law enforcement, clergy, and other community agency workers and volunteers in positions of trust that are interested in learning suicide risk identification and intervention model.
Participants attending this training will learn to:
1. Recognize invitations for help.
2. Reach out and offer support.
3. Review the risk of suicide.
4. Apply a suicide intervention model.
5. Link people with community resources.
CEU’s:
Are pending for the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative, for the Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP), & Nursing CE’s. Certificates will be presented at the end of the training to those who attend both days, all sessions, and complete a training evaluation.

About the Presenters:
Elizabeth Thelen is a Masters Level Licensed Social Worker. She has worked at ICCMH since 2008 in its Access and Case Management services. Elizabeth has also worked for CMH services in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, as well as has experience facilitating Substance Abuse recovery and education groups. Both Kris and Elizabeth have completed extensive training to become ASIST trainers.
